The workshop will be held April 2nd-3rd, 2025 in Denver, Colorado at The Westin Denver Downtown, 1672 Lawrence St., Denver, CO 80202.
The primary goal of this workshop is to connect U.S. based higher education affiliates with valuable information and resources to deepen their understanding of how to leverage AI in their current work, while also equipping participants with the skills necessary to advance their careers and achieve their specific professional objectives.
This workshop focuses on two key areas:
The first is to provide foundational support for individuals with little to no prior experience in AI, offering them a comprehensive overview of the field. Participants will leave with the ability to run pre-configured, tested tasks on AI resources and will have access to customizable examples that they can adapt for their own projects.
The second area targets individuals with existing experience in AI, aiming to help them deconstruct specific challenges and overcome obstacles that are hindering progress in their work.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is open to individuals from a diverse range of disciplines and institutions. To foster broad community representation, applicants from all career stages—whether you are just beginning to explore AI or are already experienced in the field - are encouraged to attend. The workshop will be particularly beneficial to:
Beginners with little to no AI experience who seek a comprehensive introduction to the field and want hands-on training or exploration to build technical skills
Intermediate to advanced users who are already using AI tools or computational resources and need support in solving specific problems or overcoming challenges in their projects.
Ideal applicants include:
Researchers, students, faculty, staff, postdocs, and practitioners from any institution of Higher Education, including Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs), who are working in any discipline.
Individuals actively engaged in projects that could benefit from AI, computational resources, or high-performance computing.
Individuals currently using or interested in using computational resources available via the National Science Foundation (NSF) funded ACCESS program, Department of Energy (DOE), NAIRR Pilot, commercial providers, or local/regionally-funded systems.
